method since 1996.
What is
Reiki?
Reiki
is the universal life force, also referred to as ki, chi
or prana. It balances the body's energy system and
promotes emotional, physical, and spiritual healing.
History of Usui system of Reiki:
Reiki is not a religion and it does not require any
specific belief system. Dr Mikao Usui, a professor of
Theology who lived in Japan, rediscovered the healing
system after many years of study, research and
meditation. An American called Hawayo Takata brought it
to the USA in the 1930’s. Reiki is now practiced and
taught all over the world.
What is a treatment like?
A Reiki treatment is safe, non-intrusive, non-invasive
and non-manipulative. Hands are placed just above or
upon the body, but unlike massage, there is no kneading.
The Reiki practitioner relays the Reiki energy, not
their own energy, to the recipient. A treatment is performed on an individual lying down or
sitting in a chair. Recipients often feel a subtle
energy flow which leads to a deep feeling of relaxation
and peace and can encourage healing on all
levels.
